No, not everything. Most things, certainly, and more than we can currently explain, but not literally everything. I do believe in a spiritual side of existence, and I am dismayed at the currently-in-vogue attitude of "religion is worthless and evil". Religion is no more evil than science; it's all a matter of application. To oversimplify: You can make bombs or you can grow more food. If you could travel back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?

None. I wouldn't have listened to me; I hadn't had the requisite experiences to understand why it would be that I'm telling myself this. Now, if I could go back in time and be a younger version of myself, to have it to do all over again knowing then what I know now...well, I'd do it better the second time around, but there are swaths of boring, pain, and suck that I'd be much better off not reliving at all. Just give me a few more years of relative youth in place of time travel any day.

Continuing tech weirdness

My tablet was just briefly KO'd:

0210 stuck key 71

So far, I haven't been able to find out which key scancode 71 corresponds to. According to ThinkWiki, the X60 and X61 tablets' Up keys generate scancode 71, but the X200 tablet doesn't.

I checked for stuck or sticky keys and found none, but it still errored out.

I blew half a can of compressed air through the keyboard, but it still errored out.

And now, after a small bit of random poking and a couple extra spritzes of air here and there, it's working again.

I start getting my desktop reassembled, and my tablet's desktop goes all wonky. Then my desktop boots...barely...into safe mode, due to the hardware changes, and it looks like I'm going to have to reinstall from scratch to coerce it back to life.

Sixteen places in seven cities. Ten of these have been here in town.

Least favorite? The rented room in the Theta Tau frat house in the summer of 2000, because of Lloyd. His stench was like unto Foul Ol' Ron's, and should have been paying rent itself.

Favorite? Either my current digs (first place in town I've lived in that's had sun) or Bradenton, FL. Living within ten minutes of the Gulf of Mexico was nice; woulda been even nicer had I been old enough to drive myself there.

I just had to go back through all the Rock Band song downloads & click 'download again' on each one to validate the licenses on my replacement Xbox 360. Couldn't make it easy, could they? No 'validate all licenses' button, or 'enqueue all' or anything. So I spent twenty minutes clicking. Thankfully it didn't actually have to download the full files, else it'd be going til morning and I'd probably still be clicking through the list.

Between that and dealing with Charter, it's a good day to be angry.
